The RSA building at John Adam Street is a remarkable example of 18th Century architecture and we are very proud of its heritage. The home of The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce since 1754, it is now a multi functional building offering banqueting halls, conference facilities, a library and office suites. The Grade 1 listed building is set on seven floors comprising 35,000 square feet.

Our cleaning requirements are very complex and we require a cleaning company that not only clean to a very high standard but also fully understand our philosophy of delivering an outstanding service to our customers. We are passionate about our business and the facilities we provide and we feel that these sentiments are echoed by the team at Deep Kleen Services.

When the RSA invited tenders for the daily cleaning contract, our tender document was very specific. Many of our rooms contain extremely valuable and precious items of furniture, books, works of art etc., as well as state of the art technical equipment in our conference suites. We have a marble floor that requires extreme care and attention and this is maintained daily and thoroughly cleaned once a month. There are also wooden floors that require specialist cleaning and an untreated wooden staircase, which is cleaned with extreme care on a monthly basis. In addition, the carpeted areas need to be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis.

This amount of flexibility and overall quality of service was a key factor when awarding the contract, which was for an initial period of six months. When Deep Kleen took over the cleaning, TUPE regulations applied and so they inherited our existing cleaners. It is a testament to their management style that most of our own staff thought the improved quality of service was because the cleaners had been replaced, not realising it was just the management that had changed. We were pleased and relieved to be able to extend the term of the contract and are certain we will not be looking anywhere else for our cleaning services.

We are currently undergoing a programme of renovation to include the re-location of our reference library. This is quite a mammoth task and the difficulty is keeping the amount of dust and dirt generated at bay, whilst trying to maintain 'business as usual'. Working very closely with the Deep Kleen team we are able to achieve this and the disruption has been kept to a bare minimum.

Deep Kleen provide us with experienced and committed operatives who are very thorough in their tasks. The team is lead by a supervisor and we also have a dedicated Site Manager who visits every day to double check that all our requirements are met. This structure of management is very reassuring to us and gives us the confidence to continue to deliver our own Customer Service Promise to be consistent in the standard of services we provide.
